WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 12) – The Waynesburg University women's tennis team wrapped up the regular season portion of its fall schedule on Saturday, when it hosted Washington & Jefferson. The Yellow Jackets were bested 7-2 by the visiting Presidents.
After W&J (8-5, 6-1) swept through the doubles flights, Waynesburg (1-10, 0-7) picked up its two wins of the match at fifth and sixth singles. Senior
Sierra Stevens (Bellwood, Pa. / Bellwood-Antis) and freshman
Hayley Sweeney (Johnstown, Pa. / Richland) took their flights by way of forfeit.
The Jackets now turn their attention to the upcoming PAC championship tournament, which is scheduled to get underway on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at W&J's Janet Swanson Tennis Center.
