STEUBENVILLE, Ohio. (March 20) – The Waynesburg University softball team hit the road on Wednesday for a doubleheader at Franciscan. The Yellow Jackets dropped both ends of the twin bill by the final scores of 6-3 and 8-2.
Sophomore
Emma Kubalak (Spring Mills, Pa. / Penns Valley) pitched all 12 innings in the circle.
Though they didn't lead to a win, junior
Courtney Syfert (Johnstown, Pa. / Richland) and freshman
Megan Walker (Carmichaels, Pa. / Carmichaels) both posted three-for-seven days at the plate. Walker logged two doubles, while Syfert had one of her own and recorded two RBI.
Senior first baseman
Alex Lawrence (Bridgeville, Pa. / Chartiers Valley) teed off on her team-leading third homerun of the season during the opener.
After playing 14 games away from Waynesburg, the Yellow Jackets (4-10) are scheduled to host Mount Aloysius for their home opener on Friday. First pitch of the doubleheader is set for 3:30 p.m.
