STEUBENVILLE, Ohio (April 27) – The Waynesburg University women's lacrosse team wrapped up the 2019 season on Saturday with a road Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match at Franciscan. The Yellow Jackets fell 20-2 to the host Barons.
Franciscan (8-6, 5-2) built up a 14-0 lead over the first 23 minutes of play. Senior
Sarah Knapp (Millerton, N.Y. / Upton Lake Christian) broke up the shutout after splitting the pipes with 4:40 remaining in the first half. The Jackets (0-14, 0-7) tallied their only other goal of the day when sophomore
Breanna Martini (Pickerington, Ohio / Pickerington North) scored with 9:31 left in the game and the season.
Martini also assisted on Knapp's goal.
Sophomore
Riley Yoder (Lancaster, Ohio / Fisher Catholic) played all 60 minutes in net and tallied five saves. Yoder logged all 840 possible minutes in goal this season for the Orange and Black.
