This is the eighth-straight year that Waynesburg and Muskingum open their respective seasons against each other. The Muskies have won the previous three meetings following four-straight Yellow Jacket triumphs.
 
Saturday's Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) vs. Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) matchup is the second such meeting of week one. Westminster rolled past Capital 66-7 on Thursday in the national Division III season opener.
 
The PAC is facing off against some elite opposition in week one. Number-21 Washington & Jefferson faces number-18 Wittenberg in a nationally televised battle to highlight the slate. Carnegie Mellon, Saint Vincent and Thiel are all meeting up with opposition featured in the "Others Receiving Votes" category in the D3Football.com national rankings.
 
The numbers surrounding Waynesburg's offensive experience are pretty impressive. The Yellow Jackets bring back all 11 starters from last year's unit. They also return six of their top seven rushers and their top 10 pass catchers.
 
Conversely, the Jackets will debut six or seven new starters on defense. Three of those returning starters are featured in the secondary.
