ERIE, Pa. (Feb. 21) – The Waynesburg University men's tennis team opened the spring portion of its schedule on Friday with a road trip to Penn State Behrend. The Yellow Jackets dropped an 8-1 final score to the Lions in a non-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match.
Things started well for the Jackets (1-3), who picked up the first win of the day at number one doubles. Sophomore
Joey English (Smithfield, Pa. / Homeschooled) and sophomore
Conor Cassidy (Huntingtown, Md. / Huntingtown) pulled out a hard-fought 8-6 triumph to get their spring season off to a good start against Behrend (6-3).
Waynesburg is off until Friday, March 27, when it hosts Mount Aloysius. Start time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
