BEAVER FALLS, Pa. (Oct. 30) – The Waynesburg University football team hit the road on Saturday for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) night game at Geneva. The Yellow Jackets fell by the final score of 49-3.
After Geneva (3-5, 3-4) built a 14-0 first-quarter lead, sophomore kicker
Keegan Raabe (Tyrone, Pa. / Tyrone) put Waynesburg (1-7, 1-6) on the board with a 33-yard field goal that came 45 seconds into the second quarter. The Golden Tornadoes chipped in two more touchdowns in the second quarter to take a 28-3 lead into halftime. The home team added a trio of touchdowns in the third quarter to bring about the final score.
Freshman linebacker
Samuel Hamilton (Bowie, Md / Charles Herbert Flowers) put together one of the top performances of his young collegiate career. He posted game highs in total tackles (10) and tackles for loss (3.5), while also recording a sack, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
Fellow freshman
James Davis (Kersey, Pa. / Saint Mary's) contributed nine total tackles, including a contest-best six solo stops.
Waynesburg will host Bethany for senior day during its final home game of the year on Saturday, Nov. 6. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
