BEAVER FALLS, Pa. (April 19) – The Waynesburg University men's tennis team traveled to Geneva for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match against the Golden Tornadoes. The Yellow Jackets fell by the final score of 8-1.
The contest was a much more closely contested one than was shown by the final score. Though Geneva (3-5, 3-3) swept the doubles matches, the final scores went 8-5, 8-7 (7-4) and 8-6 from flights one through three, respectively.
Waynesburg (0-5, 0-5) picked up its lone win of the day at third singles, where junior
Conor Cassidy (Huntingtown, Md. / Huntingtown) scored a 6-0, 6-4 victory.
The Jackets are scheduled to wrap up their regular season on Thursday, April 22, when Saint Vincent travels to Waynesburg. Start time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
