WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 14) – The Waynesburg University women's tennis team hosted Muskingum for a non-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets dropped a 7-2 -final score to the visiting Muskies.
Waynesburg (0-3) won its first flight of the day thanks to seniors
Emily Schafer (Meyersdale, Pa. / Meyersdale) and
Ashley Smith (New Brighton, Pa. / New Brighton). The veteran duo teamed up to score an 8-5 victory at number-three doubles.
Junior
Hayley Sweeney (Johnstown, Pa. / Richland) picked up a singles win at the number-three spot. Sweeney downed her opponent by the impressive set scores of 6-1, 6-2.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Thursday, Sept. 23, when they travel to Franciscan for a PAC match. Start time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
