BEREA, Ohio (Sept. 18) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team traveled to Baldwin-Wallace on Saturday looking to extend its winning streak to four games. Unfortunately, the host Yellow Jackets had other plans and dealt the visitors a 4-0 loss.
B-W (3-4) opened the scoring 9:57 into the game and doubled its advantage to 2-0 just 1:19 later, which was also the score at the halftime break. Waynesburg (3-2) was able to stay within striking distance of the opposition throughout most of the second half. However, Baldwin-Wallace goals in the 80
th and 88
th minutes put the game out of reach.
The Jackets were on the wrong end of a 17-3 shot differential, but were only out-shot by a five-three difference int the first half. Junior goalkeeper
Autumn Blair (Penn Hills, Pa. / Penn Hills) played all 90 minutes in net and made seven saves on the day.
The Jackets return home for a rare Monday afternoon game against Lancaster Bible. Start time on Sept. 20 is scheduled for 2 p.m.
