WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 26) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team closed the 2022 season on Wednesday night by hosting Geneva in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match. The Golden Tornadoes scored first, but a pair of second-half goals allowed the Yellow Jackets to end the fall with a 2-1 victory.
Geneva (4-11-3, 2-7-1) broke up the shutout late in the 35
th minute to take a 1-0 edge, which was also the score at the halftime break. After getting outshot 10-5 over the first 45 minutes, Waynesburg (5-7-5, 2-4-4) turned things around in the second half.
The Jackets turned the tables on the Golden Tornadoes by outshooting the visitors 12-4 in the period. Junior
Kate James (Silver Spring, Md. / St. John's College H.S.) tied the score at 1-1 early in the 58

Emily Redman (La Plata, Md. / La Plata) recorded assists on the tally.
The Jackets' final goal of the season came in the 77
th minute courtesy of sophomore
Demaree Livingston (Willow Grove, Pa. / Upper Dublin). Mittendorf picked up her second assist of the night and the year.
The Jacket defense closed out the game by allowing just one Geneva shot over the final 12:40 of play. That attempt was turned away by senior
Kennedy Schuck (Marietta, Ohio / Marietta) and was the last of her 10 saves of the game.
Senior
Autumn Blair (Penn Hills, Pa. / Penn Hills) got to close out her collegiate career on the field as she played the final 8:10 in goal.
