WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Nov. 19) – The Waynesburg University wrestling team made its home debut at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse by hosting Saturday's Waynesburg Duals. The Yellow Jackets went 0-3 against three quality opponents, but one returning standout gave Waynesburg fans something to be happy about.

Junior Colby Morris (Waynesburg, Pa. / Waynesburg Central) wrestled his first collegiate match since Feb. 12, 2021, and went 3-0 with two pins on the day. Morris was away from the team last year as he fulfilled his training obligations to the United States National Guard.

Morris started his day with a 7-1 decision win over Rochester Institute of Technology's Ben Dougherty, then stuck Shippensburg's Cole Lang in 2:37 for his first pin of the year. He ended his day with a pin in 4:14 over Messiah's Austin Brass.

Senior Harley Constable (Smithfield, Pa. / Albert Gallatin) was also a winner against Messiah, taking his bout against Mason Casey by 11-2 major decision. Sophomore Trent Patrick (Delmont, Pa. / Greensburg Salem) ended Waynesburg's day on a high note with a pin in 4:38 over Messiah's Christian Connor.

The Yellow Jackets fell to Rochester Institute of Technology 46-3 in session one, 43-6 against NCAA Division II member Shippensburg in session two and 39-16 to Messiah in session three. All three of those opponents went 3-0 on the day. Fellow Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) member Washington & Jefferson and NCAA Division II member Fairmont State also competed on the day.

Waynesburg is scheduled to return to the mats on Friday, Dec. 2, when it travels to York (Pa.) College to compete in the always competitive New Standard Invitational. Start time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
