WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (Feb. 28) – The Waynesburg University baseball team faced off with Wartburg on Monday at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational. The Yellow Jackets came up on the wrong end of a 14-1 final score.
Wartburg (1-2) built up a 10-0 lead heading to the bottom of the fourth inning, where Waynesburg (0-2) tallied its only run of the day. Freshman catcher

The Knights added three runs in the sixth and one more in the seventh to wrap up the scoring.

Alec Engelmore (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Shaler) got the start and lasted 1.1 innings in his first collegiate start. He was the first of four Waynesburg pitchers to take the mound on the afternoon.
The Jackets will play a third game in three days when they face Concordia (Minn.). First pitch is scheduled for 9 a.m.
