GREENVILLE, Pa. (Jan. 9) – Waynesburg University junior
Colby Morris (Waynesburg, Pa. / Waynesburg Central) earned his second individual tournament title of the season at Saturday's Waynesburg Invitational. His efforts also netted him his second nod as the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Wrestler of the Week.
Morris improved to 14-0 on the year after going 4-0 with two pins on his way to the 174-pound crown. He started his day with back-to-back falls to reach the semifinals against Austin Gibson of NCAA Division II member Fairmont State. After a bit of a slow start, Morris opened up his offense on his way to a 7-0 victory that put him in the finals against Heidelberg's TJ Rhamy. The two battled over seven hard-fought minutes and by the time the final whistle was blown, Morris had his hand raised following a 3-2 decision.
