CLEVELAND, Ohio (Nov. 10) – The Waynesburg University men's basketball team traveled to Case Western Reserve on Friday for its first game at the Bill Sudecky Holiday Tournament. The Yellow Jackets fell 82-62 to Eastern University and will compete in the consolation game of the tournament tomorrow.
The two teams split the first 16 points of the contest, but Eastern (1-0) took control by tallying 23 of the next 31 points to take a 31-16 lead with 7:10 left to play in the first half. The remainder of the period was played in a fairly evenly contested fashion before the Eagles went into the locker room with a 41-26 advantage.
Unfortunately, an 13-0 run by Eastern that included back-to-back-to-back three pointers allowed it to expand its move ahead 54-26. The victors led by as many as 31 points, before Waynesburg (1-1) pulled to within 16 (71-55) with just under seven minutes remaining in the contest.
