WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Nov. 18) – The Waynesburg University wrestling team welcomed Averett, Lycoming and Shippensburg to the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse on Saturday for a quad-match. The Yellow Jackets posted an 0-3 record on the day.
 
Waynesburg (0-3) dropped its opening match to Averett (5-1) 48-4 and followed that up with a 49-6 setback against Lycoming (3-0). The Yellow Jackets' day ended with a 44-12 loss to Shippensburg (1-3).
 
The Jackets were paced by freshmen Jessie Orbin (Houston, Pa. / Chartiers-Houston) and Kase Stewart (Letart, W.Va. / Wahama), who scored pins against Lycoming and Shippensburg, respectively. Senior Colby Morris (Waynesburg, Pa. / Waynesburg Central) earned a major decision against Averett and sophomore Christian Michaels picked up a win by forfeit in his team's third match of the day.
 
Waynesburg is off until after Thanksgiving and returns to the mats on Sunday, Dec. 3, when it competes in the Storm Open, which is being hosted by Lake Erie College. Start time is scheduled for 10 a.m.
