Women's soccer squares off with Pitt Greensburg

Yellow Jackets drop 2-0 match to Bobcats at Highmark Stadium

PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Sept. 12) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team faced off against a quality non-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opponent in Pitt Greensburg at Highmark Stadium in Pittsburgh on Tuesday. A last-second goal in the first half provided the eventual game winner for the Bobcats as they won 2-0.
 
Pitt Greensburg (3-3) just beat the final whistle of the opening half to take a 1-0 edge. The Cats added an insurance goal late in the 79th minute to ice the victory.
 
Waynesburg (2-2) outplayed Pitt Greensburg in the first half, as the Jackets put five shots on goal and logged six total attempts over the first 45 minutes. The second period saw UPG outshoot the Orange and Black by a 6-1 margin.
 
Freshman Alexus Greenlief (Chester, W.Va. / Oak Glen) played all 90 minutes in goal and tallied five saves as she suffered her first loss in net.
 
The Jackets will look to get back on track on Friday, Sept. 15, when they travel to Baldwin Wallace. Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
