WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Jan. 24) -- The Waynesburg University wrestling team dropped a 31-12 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) dual with Washington & Jefferson College on Wednesday night at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse.
The Presidents (4-10, 2-1) took an early 12-0 lead as the Yellow Jackets (1-17, 0-2) did not weigh in a wrestler at 125 or 133 pounds. W&J extended their lead to 25-0 after an 8-0 major decision at 133 pounds, a pair of 8-7 decisions at 149 and 165 pounds and a 6-2 win at 157 pounds.
The Jackets got on the board as
Colby Morris (Waynesburg. Pa / Waynesburg Central) posted an impressive pin in 57 seconds at 174 pounds. Morris is currently the number five wrestler in Division-III at 174 according to theÂ
d3wrestle.com individual rankings.Â
Morris' victory started a three-weight win streak for the Jackets as
Jessie Orbin (Houston, Pa. / Chartiers-Houston), the reigning
PAC Newcomer of the Week, notched a 7-1 decision at 184 pounds to cut the deficit to 25-9.
Ayden Bishoff (Kingwood, W.Va. / Preston) added the final win of the night for Waynesburg at 197 pounds with a 4-1 overtime win coming on a three-point take down. The Jackets did not weigh in at heavyweight.Â
The Yellow Jackets return to the mat Friday, Jan. 26, when they conclude PAC play with a 7 p.m. dual at Thiel.Â
