ON WAYNESBURG
Waynesburg scored 11 points in the final 2:31 of regulation to earn a 44-41 victory at Allegheny. Samuel Barber threw a 62-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Richmond and ran in the two-point conversion to knot the game at 41. The Waynesburg defense intercepted Allegheny on its next drive and Barber drove the Jackets inside the Gator 20. Drew Pinkerton converted a 32-yard field goal with 15 seconds  left to lift the Jackets to victory. Waynesburg's defense had a season-high four takeaways, all in the second half. The Jacket offense rolled up a season-high 521 yards of total offense.

ON GROVE CITY
No. 13 Grove City bounced back from its first defeat in league play since 2022 with a 59-7 win over Thiel in the Mercer County Cup. The Wolverines are one of five PAC championship contenders with just one loss through the first eight weeks of the season. Grove City's defense had six sacks, three takeaways and a defensive score, while limiting Thiel to 151 yards of total offense. Grove City led 49-0 at halftime with receiver Scott Fraser catching eight passes for 128 yards and three touchdowns.

THE SERIES (WAYNESBURG LEADS 32-22-5)
The Jackets and Wolverines will play in John F. Wiley Stadium for the fifth time in the last six meetings dating back to 2017. Waynesburg's last win over Grove City came in 2016. 
Last year, Wolverines triumphed 43-27 over the Jackets. In the game's second play from scrimmage Justin Flack rumbled 81 yards for a Yellow Jacket touchdown. After Grove City tied the game, Waynesburg took a 14-7 lead into the second quarter with Zayne Cawley scoring from 15 yards out. The Wolverines scored the game's next 23 points to go ahead 30-14 in the third quarter. Isaac Trout caught a pair of touchdown passes in the second half but Grove City pulled away for the 43-27 victory. Waynesburg turned the ball over a season-high four times. Grove City defeated the Jackets 38-0 in the previous meeting.

SLINGING SAMMY TAKES OVER THE SECOND HALF
Senior quarterback Samuel Barber posted a career performance against Allegheny. Posting 355 passing yards and four touchdowns in a narrow 44-41 victory on the road. Sophomore wideout Tyler Richmond was the key target posting five receptions for 143 yards and a touchdown. Barber completed passes of 20 and 24 yards in a two-minute drill to set up the 32 yard game winning field goal.

BATTLE OF THE TOP CONFERENCE BACKS
Saturday's contest at John F. Wiley features the top two leaders in rushing within the PAC. Junior Zayne Cawley leads the conference in rushing with 924, the most yards from a Waynesburg back since 2014 (Jake Forsythe, 1159 yards). Grove City back Nico Flati is currently second in the PAC for rushing with 707 yards on the ground. Both backs have eight rushing touchdowns on the season to tie for first in the conference.
