LATROBE, Pa. (November 9) – The Waynesburg University volleyball team closed its season with a three-set defeat at Saint Vincent on Saturday afternoon.
The Bearcats clinched the No. 2 seed in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Tournament outright at 14-11, 8-2 PAC. Waynesburg concludes its season at 7-16, 3-7 PAC.
Saint Vincent took the match with a score line of 25-18, 25-18 and 25-16. The Bearcats used runs of at least five points in all three frames to separate and ultimately win each set.
Krista Wilson (Greensboro, Pa. / Mapletown) paced Waynesburg with eight kills and two solo blocks. Kristina Zadrozny (McDonald, Pa. / West Allegheny) added seven kills. Madi Dayton (Ridgeley, W. Va. / Calvary Christian) had five kills and 17 digs.
Riley Ruffley (Bedford, Pa. / Bedford) had 14 assists and 10 digs. Paige Cousley (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Chartiers Valley) recorded 10 assists and Jorden Stein had 20 digs.
