BEAVER FALLS, Pa. (Jan. 31) -- The Waynesburg University men's basketball team lost a 67-57 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) showdown with conference-leading Geneva College on Wednesday night at Metheny Fieldhouse.

The Yellow Jackets (10-10, 7-8) jumped to a quick 4-0 lead 1:57 into the opening half as Antone Baker (Maple Heights, Ohio / Maple Heights) connected on a pair of jumpers. The Golden Tornadoes (19-2, 15-1) clawed their way back into the contest with a flurry of 3-pointers on an 11-2 run to lead 11-6 at the 15:10 mark of the first half.

Waynesburg responded with an 8-0 run over the next 2:21 that was capped off by another Baker bucket to lead 14-11. The home side closed the half with an extended 27-8 run to lead 38-22 at the break.

Geneva's lead grew to as much as 22 points (55-33) with 11:36 left in the game. The Orange and Black made a late-game push and cut the Golden Tornadoes lead to 9 (64-55) with 1:13 left in the game thanks to a 22-9 stretch over 10:23. The home side sealed the 67-57 win with a trio of late free throws.

Baker notched a game-best 22 points on 10-of-17 from the field and 2-of-4 at the line to go with a game-high 10 rebounds in route to his team-leading seventh double-double of the season. He also added a game-best three blocks and currently sits atop the PAC in blocks per game (2.0)
