Jackets look to end regular season on two-game winning streak

SENIOR DAY -- Waynesburg will honor and recognize senior Marley Wolf in a pregame ceremony for her contributions to Yellow Jackets basketball over the past four seasons ... Wolf has been a four-year starter for the Jackets, making 73 starts in her 86 appearances ... She has averaged nearly 6 points per game in her Waynesburg career and has been a consistent presence in the Jackets' rotation.

SERIES RECAP -- Saturday will be the 50th all-time meeting between the Jackets and Tomcats ... Waynesburg first beat Thiel 50-43 on November 23, 2002 in their first head-to-head meeting ... The Orange and Black lead the series 33-16 and have won 9 of the past 11 games ... Waynesburg topped Thiel 99-81 in their first meeting this season on January 13 ... Kalista Friday (16 points), Mia Henkins (15), Wolf (14) and Madisen Dayton (10) all posted double-digit scoring efforts in the win.

MAKIN' IT RAIN FROM DEEP -- The Yellow Jackets dominated Franciscan 88-47 on Wednesday night ... As a team, the Jackets went 18-of-27 (66.7%) from 3-point range, a season high ... The Orange and Black shot a season-best 56.9% (33-of-58) from the field in the win ... Henkins and Kara McFadden tied for the game high with 15 points each ...  Henkins finished 5-of-7 from beyond the arc while McFadden was a perfect 5-of-5 from deep ... Wolf, Aubrey Burns and Clara-Paige Miller added two 3-pointers each and went a combined 6-of-14 from beyond the arc.

VORMELKER RETURNS -- Saturday will mark Thiel head coach Jessica Vormelker's first game at Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse as a head coach ... Vormelker was a graduate assistant under Sam Jones from 2019-2021 ... She served as an assistant at Allegheny for the past two seasons before taking over the Tomcats program in April 2023.
