NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (April 27) – The Waynesburg University women's lacrosse team capped its 2024 season with a 20-1 defeat at Westminster on Saturday afternoon.
The Jackets finish the year with a 1-16 record and a 0-9 mark in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play. Westminster heads into the PAC Tournament with a 15-4 record, 9-2 PAC.
Mya Riggle (Ford City, Pa. / Armstrong) put the Jackets on the scoreboard with a goal five minutes into the contest. Westminster led 9-1 after the first quarter and triggered a running clock in the opening minutes of the second.
Riggle led the Jackets with one goal and 5 shots.
Waverly Lorne (New Providence, N.J. / Governor Livingston) recorded seven shots, four ground balls, four draw controls and two caused turnovers.
Chloe Fields (Linesville, Pa. / Conneaut) recorded three caused turnovers and two ground balls.
Diana Gurecka (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Seton LaSalle) made nine saves and collected five ground balls in the game.
