ON WAYNESBURG
The Jackets and (RV) Case Western were scoreless after the first quarter of the season opener before CWRU took control of the game with a 27-point second quarter. Waynesburg looks to build off some second half momentum with Ewing Jamison intercepting a pass near midfield and returning it to the CWRU 35. Dagyn Williams scored the Jackets' first touchdown of the season with a 79-yard catch-and-run  up the right sideline. The Waynesburg defense limited Case Western to 14 points outside of the explosive second quarter.

ON WESTMINSTER
Due to the PAC's 11-team, 10-game conference schedule, the Titans were left without an opponent in week one and open their season with Hall of Fame Weekend and Family Day at Memorial Field inside Harold Burry Stadium in week two. The Titans logged their ninth-straight winning season last fall with a 6-4 record. Westminster finished fifth in the PAC standings with wins over each opponent below the Titans and losses to the top four finishers in the league. Westminster went 4-1 at home last fall, where the Titans are 38-18 under Scott Benzel.

THE SERIES (WESTMINSTER LEADS 43-33-3)
Westminster has won the last eight meetings against the Jackets. Waynesburg won eight of the 10 previous meetings before the current streak. In the last matchup, Westminster scored a pair of touchdowns in the final five minutes of the first half to build a 14-3 halftime lead. Xavier Nelson's 48-yard touchdown grab brought the Jackets back within one score in the third quarter. The visitors clung to a 17-13 margin heading into the fourth quarter. The Titans responded with a 15-play, 74 yard touchdown drive to lead 24-13. Waynesburg fumbled away the ensuing kickoff and the Titans cashed in with another touchdown to put the game out of reach. In four red zone trips, Waynesburg totaled 13 points (1 TD, 2 FG) while Westminster scored 24 points (3TD, 1 FG) in the same number of possessions.

ALL ABOARD THE DAGYN EXPRESS
Junior tight end Dagyn Williams hauled in a 79 yard catch-and-run score thrown by junior quarterback Thomas Burke III in last week's opener against Case Western. This is the longest reception and touchdown by a listed tight end for Waynesburg going back to 2002. It was the first touchdown grab by a tight end since Andrew Elerick hauled in two TD grabs in a week three win over Thiel in the 2021 season.
