WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 10) – The Waynesburg University women's tennis team wrapped up the 2025 fall season by hosting Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opponent Washington & Jefferson on Friday. The Yellow Jackets dropped the contest 7-0 to the visiting Presidents.
The Presidents (9-3, 5-3) swept through the doubles competition, before freshman
Celeste Matsaudza (Boksburg, South Africa / St. Dominic's Catholic School) nearly got Waynesburg (6-8, 1-7) on the board at first singles. Matsaudza won her first set 6-4, but her opponent bounced back to take set two 6-1. The third-and-deciding set was a battle that saw Matsaudza come up just short of pulling out the win 10-8.
Fifth singles also went the distance, as senior
Julia Corey (Eighty Four, Pa. / Ringgold) won the opening set 6-1. Unfortunately, W&J rebounded to take the final two sets of the match.
Prior to the match, Corey was honored along with senior classmates
Alli Bailey (Mount Pleasant, Pa. / Mount Pleasant) and
Aubrey Burns (Kittaning, Pa. / Armstrong).
