WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 21) – The Waynesburg University men's tennis team opened its fall season on Tuesday with a home non-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match against Saint Vincent. The Yellow Jackets fell 7-0 to the Bearcats at the Bechtle Family Tennis Facility.
 
The Jackets (0-1) nearly picked up a win at third doubles thanks to the efforts of freshman Nate Mayket and junior Caleb Custer (Leechburg, Pa. / Kiski Area), who dropped a hard-fought 7-6 contest. Freshman Michael Pohuski (Westminster, Md. / Westminster) also came close to victory but dropped his match to his Bearcat (2-0) counterpart at second singles 6-0, 4-6, 10-7.
 
Waynesburg is not scheduled to return to the court until Tuesday, March 17, when it hosts Penn State Altoona for a non-conference tilt. Start time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
