WASHINGTON, Pa. (October 25) - The Waynesburg University football team made the short trip up I-79 North on Saturday to face Washington & Jefferson on Saturday. It had to feel like a much longer trip home for the Yellow Jackets after suffering a 56-0 loss to the Presidents.
Â
W&J (5-2, 5-0) Led 14-0 at the end of the first quarter and grew its advantage to 35-0 at halftime.
Â
Waynesburg (2-6, 2-4) had one bright spot on the day, in the person of junior defensive back
Joanes Polynice (Winter Garden, Fla. / West Orange), who continued a fantastic first season in Orange and Black. Not only did he reach nine total tackles for a fourth-straight games and five games overall, but he logged a game-high 3.0 tackles for loss and recovered his second fumble of the season.
Â
The Jackets will try to put Saturday's defeat behind them when they travel to Bethany on Saturday, Nov. 1. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
