HUMBLED ON HOMECOMING
Waynesburg saw its two-game PAC win streak come to a close as the Yellow Jackets fell 21-11 to Allegheny. The Gators led throughout the contest, but the host squad trailed by just three points (14-11) early in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, Allegheny put the game away with a touchdown pass with 5:10 remaining in the contest. Junior running back Carson Shriver (Fairview, W.Va. / Blay-Battelle) led Waynesburg with 95 yards rushing and a touchdown on 18 carries. Sophomore quarterback Luke Hudson (Morgantown, W.Va. / University) threw for 245 yards on 26-of-36 passing for the Orange and Black.

BOUNCE BACK IN BEAVER FALLS
The Grove City defense bounced back from a loss to W&J on Sept. 27 with a stellar performance against Geneva that led to a 22-9 win. The Wolverines withstood the Golden Tornadoes' potent passing attack and came up with a pair of timely interceptions. They also held Geneva to minus 10 yards rushing. Speaking of running the football, Chase Rankin ripped off 157 yards on the ground on 25 carries for the Wolverines. Quarterback Sutton Ellis tossed three touchdown passes to provide his team's scoring punch.

SHRIVER STRONG
Shriver has shown out over the last two games in the absence of senior back Zayne Cawley (Huntingtown, Md. / Huntingtown). Shriver has totaled over 100 all-purpose yards in both games and has scored four rushing touchdowns over that stretch. Last week's 95-yard, one-touchdown performance propelled Shriver to second in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) in rushing yards (334) and moved him into a four-way tie for second in rushing touchdowns (4).

GAMEPLAN AGAINST GROVE CITY
Grove City enters Saturday 2-2 overall while posting a 1-1 mark in conference action. Offensively, the Wolverines work through senior running back Ian Demeri, who has tallied 330 rushing yards and three rushing scores, which puts him third in the conference for both categories. Defensively, Grove City is led by former PAC Defensive Player of the Year and All-American senior Ben Bladel. Bladel, who entered this season as the all-time career leader in sacks and tackles for loss for the Wolverines, has produced 9.5 tackles for Loss and 5.5 sacks this campaign. Both totals are good for first in the PAC.

BLADEL HONORED BY PAC
Speaking of Grove City's defensive leader, he was lauded by the PAC as its newest Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. He received the award after tying his own school record with four sacks as part of a 5.5-tackle for loss performance.

CURRY COMING ONTO THE SCENE
Waynesburg junior linebacker Tyler Curry (Morgantown, W.Va. / North Marion) enjoyed a breakout performance this past week against Allegheny. He logged a personal collegiate best in tackles (8) and recorded a sack against the Gators.

EARLY BIRD GETS THE WORM
Waynesburg is 2-0 this season when scoring first and 0-3 when playing from behind. This streak has continued from last week, when Allegheny struck for a first-quarter touchdown.
