Men's wrestling returns to PAC competition with trip to Hiram

Orbin and Fleming record pins, but Jackets fall 41-18

HIRAM, Ohio (Dec. 17) – The Waynesburg University men's wrestling team returned to Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) competition on Wednesday with a rare afternoon dual at Hiram. The Yellow Jackets fell 41-16 to the host Terriers.
 
Waynesburg (1-4, 0-2) picked up victories at 133, 174 and 285 pounds against Hiram (1-3, 1-1). Sophomore Ryland Parker (Ravenal, S.C. / Ashley Ridge) received a forfeit to tie the score at 6-6. Unfortunately, the home team rebounded with four-straight wins to take firm control of the match.
 
Junior Jessie Orbin (Houston, Pa. / Chartiers-Houston) ended the skid with a pin in 2:54 over Kaden Duke at 174 pounds. Hiram bounced back with victories at 184 and 197 pounds, before junior heavyweight Austin Fleming (Parkersburg, W.Va. / Parkersburg) ended the afternoon on a high note for the Jackets with a fall in 4:45 over Michael Hopson to close the match.
 
Waynesburg is off until Saturday, Jan. 3, when they will kick off the 2026 with a trip to the Jeff Breese Invitational, which is being hosted by Washington & Jefferson. Start time is scheduled for 10 a.m.
