Jessie Orbin captures 184-pound crown at John Summa Invite

BEREA, Ohio (February 8) – Waynesburg University sophomore Jessie Orbin (Houston, Pa. / Chartiers-Houston) claimed the tournament title at 184 pounds as the Yellow Jacket men's wrestling team sent a select group to the 38th annual John Summa Invitational at Baldwin Wallace on Saturday.

Orbin notched three bonus point victories on his way to the bracket final with two technical falls and a major decision. In the final, he met the No. 3 184-pounder in region four, Baldwin Wallace's Remington Bauer. Orbin, ranked sixth in the 184-pound regional rankings, dispatched Bauer with an 11-5 decision to earn his second invitational title of the season.

Seth Evans (Sharon, Pa. / Sharon) pinned Thiel's Landon Mead in 3:46 in the 157-pound bracket. He was defeated in the next round by the nation's No. 1-ranked 157-pounder in Baldwin Wallace's Michael Peterlla. In the consolation bracket he was outlasted by Alfred State's Benajmin Rivera by decision.

Kevin Willis (Donora, Pa. / Ringgold) and Jaron Polk (Philadelphia, Pa. / Pennwood) also competed at the event at 197 pounds and 285 pounds respectively.

Waynesburg hosts the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships in the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse next Saturday at 11 a.m.
