BEAVER FALLS, Pa. (April 15) – The Waynesburg University men's tennis team wrapped up its season with a 6-1 defeat to Geneva in a Presidents' Athletic Conference match at Brady's Run Indoor Court.
Despite the final tally, the Yellow Jackets pushed three singles matches to third-set super tiebreakers in a competitive effort.
Thomas Torcaso (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Chartiers Valley) earned Waynesburg's lone win at No. 6 singles, outlasting Simon Burkett 6-3, 2-6, 10-3.
Sam Norris (Natrona Heights, Pa. / Highlands) split sets at No. 2 singles before falling just short, 6-4, 4-6, 10-7.
At No. 5 singles
Tyler Gordon (Strongsville, Ohio / OHDELA) a lengthy and competitive match, eventually falling 7-6(7), 5-7, 10-7.
Geneva (4-10, 2-6 PAC) secured the doubles point with wins at all three flights. Torcaso and Gordan played the closest match by picking up three games at third doubles.
Waynesburg concludes its 2024-25 campaign with a 2-9 overall record and a 1-7 mark in PAC play.
