IN THE WIN COLLUM
The Jackets picked up their first victory of the season in a 35-27 battle in week three against new Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Hiram. The game opened with both squads trading touchdowns in the first quarter. Waynesburg answered a go-ahead score by Hiram with four unanswered trips to the end zone to grab a 35-14 advantage. Hiram surged back with a pair of scores and were looking for a third with 1:04 on the clock, but a late interception by freshman defensive back
Marcus Crum Jr. (Warren, Ohio / Warren G. Harding) sealed the win for Waynesburg.
GATOR ROLL
Thiel dropped its conference opener against Allegheny last week by a score of 26-0 to fall to 0-3 on the season. The Gators rolled to a 13-0 lead late in the first quarter. Thiel was looking to break up the shutout with a 12-play, 57-yard drive, but the Tomcats were unable to convert in the red zone on fourth down. After another Allegheny score, Thiel was again driving for points, but a Gator interception on the one-yard line ended the drive. Allegheny tacked on another touchdown in the fourth quarter to seal the win.Â
HUDSON HANDLING BUSINESS
Last week's matchup featured the first start for Waynesburg sophomore quarterback
Luke Hudson (Morgantown, W.Va. / University). Hudson completed 17-of-19 passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns while earning his first collegiate victory. He had no trouble distributing the passing wealth, as he completed passes to seven different Jacket receivers against the Terriers.
TRACKING THE TOMCATS
The Tomcats are led offensively by graduate student running back Deon Logan, who earned honorable mention all-conference honors last season after placing fourth in the PAC with 628 yards rushing and delivering five rushing touchdowns. Junior defensive back Matt Jordan heads the defense with 27 total tackles. His 17 solo stops currently place him in a three-way tie for second place in the conference.
UNDERCLASSMENÂ UPSTART
Freshman defensive back
Marcus Crum Jr. (Warren, Ohio / Warren G. Harding) enjoyed a breakout performance against Hiram where he posted three tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss and two interceptions, the second of which came in the last three seconds to seal the win. The performance earned him PAC Newcomer of the Week honors. Sophomore defensive lineman
Isshak Adam (Carnegie, Pa. / Chartiers Valley) notched personal collegiate bests in tackles (4), tackles for loss (1.5) and sacks (1.5) in last week's win.
CAWLEY CLIMBS THE RANKS

Zayne Cawley (Huntingtown, Md. / Huntingtown) put together an impressive performance last week against Hiram, exploding for 230 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 29 carries. The Jacket back has rushed for over 200 yards three times over his career and had earned D3Football.com team of the week honors for this latest performance on Monday.
