Waynesburg enters the 2025 season under the  leadership of fourth year Head Coach
Dr. Cornelius Coleman. The Jackets finished seventh in the Presidents' Athletic Conference after being picked ninth in the preseason poll. Waynesburg's four wins tied for the most wins in a season in the last decade. The Jackets return the PAC's leading rusher in
Zayne Cawley and eight additional starters on the offensive side of the ball, including two former all-conference receivers.
ON JCU
No. 25 John Carroll opens its first season in the North Coast Athletic Conference after an NCAA playoff run in 2024. The Blue Streaks won eight straight games after an 0-2 start, averaged 39.0 points per game and return preseason All-Americans in quarterback Nick Semptimphelter and wideout Tyren Montgomery. Defensively, JCU brings back playmakers in the secondary and a veteran defensive line led by captain Joe Thimons.
CAWLEY CLIMBING THE CHARTS
Senior
Zayne Cawley led the PAC with 1,225 rushing yards in 2024, the program's highest total since Robert Heller's national-leading season in 2007. He enters 2025 with 2,157 career rushing yards, good for 10th in program history, and is chasing a move up the all-time list.
BALL HAWKS IN ORANGE AND BLACK
Waynesburg forced 16 takeaways in 2024, recording multiple takeaways in five games and four in wins over Allegheny and Thiel. The Jackets return turnover producers in linebacker
Kevin Willis (two fumble recoveries) and defensive back
Ewing Jamison (two interceptions).
TRENCH EXPERIENCE
The Jacket offensive line returns four senior starters in
Jacob Brisky,
Isaiah Grenway,
Dalton Scruggs and
Kory Ansell. Brisky earned All-PAC Second Team honors, while Grenway (19 starts) and Scruggs (17) return as multi-year starters protecting new quarterbacks and leading the way for Cawley.
RICHMOND'S BIG PLAYS
Junior receiver
Tyler Richmond ranked third in the PAC and 17th nationally with 20.64 yards per catch last season. He logged 22 receptions for 454 yards and three touchdowns, including a pair of 100-yard outings in wins over Allegheny and Thiel.
TROUT ON THE LINE
Senior wideout
Isaac Trout has paced Waynesburg in receptions in each of the past two seasons. He pulled down 41 catches for 381 yards and three scores in 2024, adding to a career total of 97 grabs entering his final campaign.
