WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Jan. 15) – The Waynesburg University men's wrestling team returned to the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match against Bethany on Thursday night. The Yellow Jackets fell 36-21 to the Bison.

Ryland Parker (Ravenal, S.C. / Ashley Ridge) picked up a forfeit at 125 pounds. Bethany (3-2, 1-0) responded with five-straight victories to build a 30-6 advantage.
The Jackets stayed alive for a comeback thanks to junior
Jessie Orbin's (Houston, Pa. / Chartiers-Houston) pin in 4:47 over Jonathan Braun that made the score 30-12.

Jarvis Thomas (Rex, Ga. / Mount Zion) further cut into the deficit with a forfeit at 184 pounds, but a forfeit win for the Bison at 197 clinched the match.
The night still ended on a high note for the host squad, as junior heavyweight
Austin Fleming (Parkersburg, W.Va. / Parkersburg) used an escape and a takedown in the second period to score a 4-1 victory over Zach Kuneff.
The Jackets are back in action on Friday, Jan. 23, when they travel to Penn State Behrend for a non-conference dual match. Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
