WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 20) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer hosted Westminster for an important Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup. The Yellow Jackets controlled the contest from start to finish and logged a 1-0 win.
Waynesburg (8-7-1, 6-3-1) outshot the Titans 22-11 on the evening and also doubled them up in terms of shots on goal (8-4).
The game's lone goal came in the 16
th minute when senior
Julz Mohrbacher (Freedom, Pa. / Freedom) fought through the opposing defense and found junior
Amanda Pepe (Mantua, N.J. / Gloucester County Institute of Technology) for the score.
That tally allowed Waynesburg to pick up its first win over Westminster since 2011. Senior goalkeeper
Lex Greenlief (Chester, W.Va. / Oak Glen) made the point stand up by tallying four saves for her fifth shutout of 2026.
The victory moved Waynesburg into a tie for third place in the PAC standings with Franciscan. Ironically, those two teams will face off in Saturday's regular season finale. While there's still a lot to be determined in the conference ranks, if the Jackets can lock down a top four spot in the final standings, they'd host a tournament quarterfinal match on Saturday, Oct. 31.
Start time for the clash between the Yellow Jackets and Barons is scheduled for 5 p.m.
