Jacket men face Grove City in PAC action

Rhodes goes for 21, but Wolverines get the 94-73 win

GROVE CITY, Pa. (Feb. 14) – The Waynesburg University men's basketball team traveled north to face Grove City in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets came up on the wrong end of a 94-73 final score.
 
Waynesburg (7-16, 3-11) started fast against the Wolverines (10-13, 7-7) with an 8-4 run over the first three minutes of play. However, Grove City took control over the next seven minutes by going on a 22-7 run to take a 26-15 advantage at the midpoint of the first half.
 
The Jackets outscored the Wolverines 13-9 over the next five minutes to close the gap to just seven points (35-28) with five minutes showing on the first half clock. Each team tallied 10 points over the final stretch of the period, allowing Grove City to take a 45-38 lead into the break.
 
Junior guard Jackson Rhodes (Christchurch, New Zealand / St. Andrews College) led the Black and Orange with 10 points in the first half.
 
The first eight minutes of period number two saw Grove City slowly grow its advantage to 64-49. The Wolverines ultimately put the game away with an 18-9 run over the final five minutes of the contest.
 
Rhodes led the Jackets with a team-high 21 points. Senior guard Scott Bilovus (Imperial, Pa. / West Allegheny) added 17 points on the day. Junior guard Aiden Blake (Parkersburg, W.Va. / Parkersburg South) put up 11 points off the bench, while senior guard Casey Keesee (Tipp City, Ohio / Bethel) chipped in 10.
 
Waynesburg will return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 18, and face Chatham in its Suicide Awareness Game, which will also be the Jackets' final home game of the 2025-26 campaign. Tip-off is slated for 5 p.m.
