WAYNESBURG, Pa. (April 9) – The Waynesburg University women's tennis team ended their 2025-26 season by earning a 5-2 victory against non-conference opponent Mount Aloysius at the Bechtle Family Tennis Facility Thursday afternoon.
The Yellow Jackets improved to 8-9 overall, which are the most victories in a season since 2014 when the squad went 10-5. The Mounties fall to 4-8 on the year.
Waynesburg claimed the doubles point by opening with back-to-back victories at number one and number two doubles. Freshman Celeste Matsaduza (Boksburg, South Africa / St. Dominic's Catholic School) and senior
Julia Corey (Eighty Four, Pa. / Ringgold) went the distance for a 7-6 victory at the top spot. Junior

Taylor Stephens (Morgantown, W.Va. / Trinity Christian)) showcased a strong performance to earn a 6-2 win at second doubles.

Aubrey Burns (Kittaning, Pa. / Armstrong) closed out the win with three-set decisions. Corey won with a score of 2-6, 7-6, 6-2 and Burns outlasted her opponent 3-6, 6-4, 10-7.
