WAYNESBURG, Pa. (June 30) – Waynesburg University head men's wrestling coach Bobby Patnesky is excited to announce the hiring of former Yellow Jacket
Seth Evans ('25) as his assistant coach. Evans returns to campus after spending one year as an assistant at Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rival Washington & Jefferson.
"I'm incredibly excited to get started and continue to grow," Evans said. "I feel like my year away has given me greater confidence in my ability to be a benefit for this team."
Evans was a regular starter since day one as a Yellow Jacket and produced a 74-73 overall record, with his most successful campaign coming in 2024-25, when he went 30-22. That win total was good for second on the team. He also finished second on the squad in terms of pins (6), technical falls (5) and major decisions (7) and finished the season as the 157-pound runner-up at the PAC Championships.
Evans also earned honorable mention All-PAC laurels as a junior in 2024 and was a runner-up at 165 pounds as a freshman in 2022.
"I promise the program is going to get everything I have to give, whether it's drilling, running a practice, recruiting, heading out to compete or just fellowshipping with our wrestlers," Evans said. "I'm beyond excited to give all that I can. I know Coach Patnesky is going to give me plenty of opportunities to give back to the program and grow as a coach."
Prior to arriving to Waynesburg, Evans was a three-sport standout at Sharon High School, where he was a four-year letter winner on the mat. He was also a member of the Tigers' football and track & field teams.
"We are absolutely thrilled that Seth is coming home!" Patnesky said. "His hard work, determination and leadership are second to none. He has consistently set the standard through his commitment and dedication, and we're excited about the impact he'll have on our program. Seth is going to help take us to new heights."
