GROVE CITY, Pa. (Sept. 19) – The Waynesburg University volleyball team concluded its two-day run at the Grove City Invitational with a pair of matches on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets dropped 3-0 final scores to both the University of Mount Union and Mount St. Joseph.
Waynesburg (1-10) fell 25-14, 25-11, 25-21 to the Purple Raiders (9-2) in its first action of the day. Freshman
Bostyn Guinn (Dallas, Texas / Midlothian Heritage) put together a solid all-around performance with a match-high 12 digs, a squad-best nine assists and four kills. Speaking of successful attacks, senior
Kristina Zadrozny (McDonald, Pa. / West Allegheny) put down a team-high five.
Match two saw Mount St. Joseph (9-4) take the contest by set scores of 25-3, 25-7, 28-26. Once again, Guinn came just shy of a double-double after recording a match-high 15 assists and a team-best nine digs. Zadrozny again led the attack with six kills.
The Jackets are back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 23, when Saint Francis makes the trip to the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse. Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
