BETHANY, W.Va. (Sept. 22) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team traveled to Bethany on Tuesday for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup against the Bison. The Yellow Jackets scored a 1-0 victory for their fifth-straight win.
Waynesburg (5-3, 3-0) dominated play from the opening whistle and outshot Bethany (0-6-2, 0-3) 36-3. The Jackets also held massive advantages in shots on goal (18-2) and corner kicks (23-1).
The game's only goal was scored during the 54
th minute, when sophomore
Ryan White (Lewisburg, W.Va. / Greenbrier East) fired a shot to the lower right-hand corner to give Waynesburg the edge.
Senior goalkeeper
Lex Greenlief (Chester, W.Va. / Oak Glenn) picked up the shutout victory with two saves over 90 minutes of work.
Waynesburg is back in action on Saturday, Sept. 26, when it travels to Grove City for a rematch of last year's PAC championship game. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
