Waynesburg University Yellow Jackets

Adam Jack

While 2013 marks Adam Jack's second-straight year on Mike Humiston's coaching staff, he is certainly very familiar with Waynesburg University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice and his Bachelor of Science degree in biology in 1999.

During his time at Waynesburg, Jack was also a standout baseball player under Humiston, who was then an assistant coach. He was a four-time All-PAC selection, a five-time PAC Player of the Week, the 1998 PAC Player of the Year, and  a member of the school's 1995 and 1998 PAC championship teams. Jack was also a member of the 1997 team, which was the NCAA all-divisions team batting championship squad and was named team MVP and team captain in 1997 and 1998. In 1998, Jack was also named to the ECAC/Reebok NCAA Division III Southern Region first team.

Following a one-year stint as an assistant coach at Waynesburg under Dwayne Lanzy in 1999 and 2005, followed by a year as an assistant under Humiston during his first year as head man of the Jackets in 2006, Jack eventually became an assistant coach of Jeannette High School in 2007 and 2008. Following two successful years with the Jayhawks, Jack became the leader of the Pitt-Greensburg program, a position he kept from 2009 until this past season.

During his time with the Bobcats, Jack led UPG to to the AMCC tournament and coached the team to its first playoff series win in school history. He coached seven All-AMCC players, the 2010 AMCC Newcomer of the Year, the 2011 ABCA All-Region Rawlings Gold Glove winner at third base and the only five ABCA Mid-Atlantic Region All-Stars in school history. He left UPG ranked second in career wins and helped his team break 23 all-time program records.

Prior to cementing his spot as one of the finest players in Waynesburg history, Jack shined on the diamond for Grove City High School, which he graduated from in 1994. Following his time as a student at Waynesburg, Jack went on to earn his Master of Science degree in forensic science at Marshall University.

He is currently employed at Waynesburg as the Chair of the Department of Social Science & Criminal Justice and an assistant professor of Criminal Justice. He is married to his wife Jennene, herself a 2000 Waynesburg graduate, and the two live in Waynesburg with their daughter Hayden.
