Luke Kiger enters his sixth year as an assistant baseball coach in 2025. Along with his time with the Yellow Jackets, Kiger boasts a coaching resume with a wide variety of experiences that include varsity high school assistant positions in baseball, football and wrestling. He has also worked with junior high athletes in both football and wrestling.Â
Kiger is a 1998 graduate of Waynesburg College (University) where he completed a degree in Criminal Justice Administration. He also minored in Sociology. He was a three-sport standout for the Yellow Jackets. Kiger was a four-year starter and letterman in baseball and wrestling, while also competing as a four-year member of the Waynesburg football team. Two of the baseball teams Kiger was on won Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) titles in 1994 and 1995.
Prior to attending Waynesburg, Kiger graduated from West Greene High School in 1993. He was a three-sport standout for the Pioneers. Along with being a four-year letterman and two-year team captain on the baseball team, he was also a two-year all-section pick and a member of the first West Greene team to qualify for the WPIAL playoffs. Kiger was a three-year football letter winner, two-time all-conference pick and team captain as a senior. He was also a member of West Greene's 1992 WPIAL semifinal squad. On the wrestling mat, Kiger was a three-year letterman, team captain, PIAA state qualifier and all-state selection. He was also a member of the West Greene team that placed seventh in the state of Pennsylvania.
Kiger is employed by Waynesburg University within its Department of Public Safety. He also serves as a Greene County Deputy Sheriff and a West Greene School Police Officer. He is married to his wife Kelly Kiger, who is the assistant volleyball coach at Waynesburg and a 1999 Waynesburg graduate. The two are proud parents of daughter Olivia and son Morgan.Â
