Scott VanSickle enters his first season with the Waynesburg baseball program in 2015. Prior to being an assistant to head coach Mike Humiston, he was the head coach at nearby Carmichaels Area High School for four seasons and compiled a 49-24 overall record. Over that time, VanSickle led the Mighty Mikes to the WPIAL playoffs in all four seasons as head coach, as well as an appearance in the 2014 WPIAL title game and top-eight finish in the PIAA playoffs.

VanSickle’s collegiate baseball resume includes one year with the Waynesburg University Baseball team in 1998. That Yellow Jacket team won the PAC Conference title and he received with All-PAC honors as a freshman. VanSickle then transferred to Division II, California University of Pennsylvania, where he was a two-time All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) – West selection as a middle infielder. He received the laurels as a second baseman in 2001 and a shortstop in 2002. The Vulcan’s won the PSAC – West title in both 2001 and 2002.

VanSickle continues to play competitively after college in the Fayette County Baseball Wooden Bat League where his teams won league titles in 1999, 2009 and 2013. His league individual honors include batting in titles 2004 (.486 average), 2007 (.576 average), 2013 (.472 average) and 2014 (.529 average). VanSickle was also named league MVP in 2007.
