From player to coach, John Sikora has seen just about every working part of the Waynesburg University football program. In 2017, he takes another step up in his football life as he becomes the team’s special teams coordinator and linebackers coach.

Sikora joined the Yellow Jackets' staff as a graduate assistant in 2015 following four memorable seasons as a student-athlete at Waynesburg. He worked closely with the Yellow Jacket linebackers while he successfully earned his Master of Arts Degree in Teaching, as well as his Secondary Education Certification.
Sikora appeared in at least seven games in each of his four seasons as a player with the Yellow Jackets, and was a three-time honorable mention All-PAC selection at linebacker. He totaled 196 tackles over 40 games played and finished in the top five in terms of total tackles on the team as a sophomore, junior and senior.
Sikora was also a standout in the classroom. The Campbell, Ohio, native was a three-time CoSIDA Academic All-District selection and a two-time Academic All-American. He was a three-year member of the PAC Fall Academic Honor Roll while earning Bachelor of Arts degrees in both History and Social Science-Political Science.
A graduate of Campbell Memorial High School, Sikora was a standout in both football and basketball for the Red Devils.
