Luke Sheridan joined the Waynesburg University football coaching staff as defensive backs coach prior to the 2022 season after gaining both playing and coaching experience at the NCAA Division I level. Sheridan spent a year at Ohio University in a defensive quality control position following a four-year playing career for the Bobcats.
Â
Not only did Sheridan suit up as a linebacker for the MAC powerhouse, but he was honored for his academic success by earning spots on the Fall and Spring AD Honor Roll. Over the four years he played for Ohio, the Bobcats went 28-15 and competed in four bowl games, winning three of them. Ohio picked up back-to-back-to-back bowl game victories in 2017 (41-6 over UAB in the Bahamas Bowl), 2018 (27-0 over San Diego State in the DXL Frisco Bowl) and 2019 (30-21 over Nevada in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl).
Â
Sheridan graduated from Ohio University in 2020 with a Degree in Physical Activity Sport Coaching. He followed that up with a master’s degree in Coaching Education from Ohio in 2021.
Â
Prior to heading to Athens to play for the Bobcats, Sheridan was a standout at Lancaster High School in Lancaster, Ohio. He was honored as a second-team All-Ohio selection and received recognition as a first-team all-region and first-team all-district pick. Further adding to this playing resume was his selection as the 2016 Fairfield County Defensive Player of the Year.
