Matthew Isom enters his first season as a graduate assistant coach Waynesburg University football team in 2025. His position groups for the upcoming season are tackles and tight ends.
Isom was a three-year starter at center at Averett University in Danville, Va. and was a three-time All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference honoree. In 2023, he was named as a D3football.com All-Region Third Team selection and to the Virginia Sports Information Directors College Division All-State Second Team. In 2023, The Cougars led NCAA Division III, and all other Divisions, with just two sacks allowed for the entire season.
Academically, Isom was a two-time ODAC All-Academic Team selection and twice named to the VaSID Academic All-State Team. He received Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators in 2024.
Isom graduated from Averett in December 2024 with a degree in business administration and a minor in communications. He is pursuing an MBA at Waynesburg.
