Mike Deitrick joined the Waynesburg University football coaching staff in 2019 as an offensive line coach and the strength & conditioning coordinator for the Yellow Jackets.

Deitrick came to Waynesburg after building a resume in all three NCAA divisions as a player and coach. He spent the previous two seasons as a running backs coach and recruiting coordinator with Duquesne University. While with the Dukes, he worked with AJ Hines, who was a first-team All-American in 2018 after running for 1,563 yard and 15 touchdowns on 266 carries.

Prior to Duquesne, Deitrick got his start in coaching by spending two seasons (2015-2016) as an assistant at Allegheny College, where he worked with the tight ends, running backs and special teams. He also worked as the team's video coordinator, breaking down film for practice and games while prepping weekly scouting reports. The western Pennsylvania native also handled many social media duties and was responsible for all film duties on the offensive side of the ball.

Before getting into coaching, Deitrick was a standout football player at Clarion University. He was a four-year starter at tight end and finished with 77 career catches and seven touchdowns. The Upper St. Clair graduate was a team captain during his senior year in 2014. Deitrick also participated in the 2014 National Bowl All-Star Game in Miami, Florida, and was the leading receiver in that game.

Deitrick graduated from Clarion University in 2014 with Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He also minored in sports management. He joined the Eagles after a standout high school career at USC, where he earned three varsity letters and was lauded as an all-conference selection.
