Phil Hamilton enters his second season on staff at Waynesburg as the Yellow Jacket offensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator.

He spent the 2024 season as the Jackets’ quarterbacks coach and special teams coordinator in 2024. Waynesburg quarterbacks led the PAC and ranked 16th nationally with a 67.6 percent completion rate. Waynesburg only threw four interceptions all season, good for 10th-best in the nation.

Hamilton spent the previous five seasons as the offensive coordinator at his alma mater and Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) member Saint Vincent.

The Bearcat passing game ranked among the top aerial attacks in the PAC during Hamilton’s time in Latrobe. In 2022, SVC ranked third in the league in scoring offense and quarterback Brady Walker led the conference with 21 passing touchdowns and ranked second with 2,015 passing yards. Walker threw for 2,721 yards and 22 touchdowns in 2021 and ranked top-50 nationally in passing efficiency, yards, touchdowns and yards per completion.

Prior to Saint Vincent, Hamilton spend three seasons as the offensive coordinator at Division II Clarion. Hamilton coached Don Hansen Third Team All-American wide receiver Kevin Genevro and the Golden Eagle’s all-time leader in touchdown passes, Connor Simmons.

He was part of the inaugural football staff at Stevenson University from 2010-2015, where he was the quarterbacks coach, recruiting coordinator and information coordinator for the Mustangs. In the program’s fourth season, Stevenson claimed an ECAC South Bowl Championship win over Bethany to cap an eight-win season.

Hamilton served as the offensive coordinator at Greensburg Central Catholic in 2015 and spent nine years working with the Quarterback Factory, training numerous Division I quarterbacks.

As a player at Saint Vincent, Hamilton was the first quarterback to see action in over 40 years as the Bearcats resurrected their program in 2007. He tossed the first touchdown pass in the modern era of Saint Vincent football in collegiate debut. Injuries cut his playing career short and Hamilton served as a student assistant in 2008-09.

A native of Davidsonville, Maryland, and a graduate of Archbishop Spalding High School, Hamilton resides in Oakmont with his wife Chrissy, their two sons, Jack and Charlie and dog, Penny.
