Lynford Lynch enters his fifth season as assistant coach on Frank Ferraro’s staff at Waynesburg University. Lynch was an instrumental part of Ferraro’s success at Burgettstown High School for 17 years as an assistant coach prior to joining Ferraro at Waynesburg.

In addition to Burgettstown, Lynch’s high-school coaching experience as assistant, making up over 20 years, included stints at South Fayette from 1997-1998 and West Allegheny in 1999. While at Burgettstown, Lynch helped guide the Blue Devils to 12 WPIAL playoff appearances, five section championships and two appearances in the state playoffs.
Lynch, a native of McDonald, Pa., and graduate of Fort Cherry High School, earned his bachelor’s degree from Edinboro University in 1974 and a second certification in secondary education/mathematics from California University (Pa.) in 1992.
Lynch, who has worked as a speech language clinician for the past 30-plus years, resides in Washington with his wife Cathy. They have two sons, Timothy and A.J.
