Shaun Mellinger enters his sixth season on the Waynesburg University coaching staff following six seasons as an assistant coach in the high school ranks. Mellinger worked with head coach Frank Ferraro as an assistant at Moon Area High School from 1997-2000.
Mellinger, a native of Chester, W.Va., came to Waynesburg following a three-year stint as an assistant at North Allegheny.
He attended Oak Glen High School from 1990 to 1993, where he was a co-captain and Most Outstanding Defensive Player on the basketball team.
Mellinger graduated from Robert Morris University in 1997 with a degree in Marketing. He currently resides in Pittsburgh with his wife Jill and works in sales.
