Waynesburg University Athletics

Along with being a highly respected and experienced faculty member of Waynesburg University, Mike Cipoletti completed his sixth season as the head men’s golf coach and fourth as the head women’s golf coach in 2024-25.

Under Cipoletti’s watch, Matthew Karpeal collected All-Presidents’ Athletic Conference honors in 2023 and 2024. Karpeal’s third-place finish at the PAC Championships in 2024 matched the program’s top individual finish in the 21st century. Luke Diel also collected all-conference status in 2022.

Cipoletti is a member of the United State Golf Association (USGA), the Greene County Country Club and the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Cipoletti has over 25 years of coaching experience at various levels of competition and is a former collegiate athlete himself at Westminster College. He also graduated from Westminster with a Bachelor of Science and followed that up by earning a Master of Science in Analytical Chemistry from West Virginia University. 

Cipoletti is an Assistant Professor of Forensic Science at Waynesburg University. He also serves as the director of the Forensic Science Program and Waynesburg University CSI Camp. He received the Lucas Hathaway Teaching Excellence Award in 2015 as part of his teaching career that began in 2008. Cipoletti is a certified Forensic Drug and Blood Alcohol Analyst and a qualified expert witness in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and United State Federal Courts. Cipoletti has accumulated over 10 years of experience with the PA State Police Bureau of Forensic Services.
